Measure how an investment performed: net profit, ROI percent, and — if you enter a holding period — the annualized return for fair comparisons.
How it works
- Enter the initial cost or amount invested.
- Enter the final amount returned.
- Provide an optional holding period for the tool to compute annualized ROI alongside total ROI.
Frequently asked questions
Why annualize?
A 40% gain over 5 years is very different from 40% in 1 year. Annualizing puts both on the same per-year scale.
Does ROI include fees and taxes?
Only if you include them — subtract fees from the returned amount for a true net figure.
Can ROI be negative?
Yes. If the returned amount is below the cost, the tool shows a negative ROI — a loss.
